WHAT ARE THE ADEMs?
The Assembly District Election Meetings (ADEMs) are held every two years. The purpose of the meetings is to elect seven (7) women and seven (7) men as the Assembly District Delegates (ADDs) for their area.
The elected delegates are responsible for:
electing CA Democratic Party officers,
promoting the CA Democratic Party agenda,
endorsing candidates for statewide, legislative and congressional office,
voting to endorse resolutions and ballot measures, and
voting on behalf of the community they represent at
Regional Meetings and
the California Democrats Convention
Some delegates are elected to serve as Executive Board (E-Board) representatives. In addition to their ADEM responsibilities, E-Board reps are responsible for:
voting and representing their community at the semi-annual E-Board meetings
All Democrats registered to vote in California can vote in their district’s ADEM.
